**Please note….we decided against releasing a full-length exam this year. I know a lot of people were probably hoping for a full exam but in all honesty, the amount of time and energy it takes us to develop an exam is more time and energy than we have (we both still have demanding FT day jobs).**
Answer & explanation:
This is an example of a standard gamble to elicit utilities of health conditions. The patient is asked to consider a scenario where a surgery for his condition exists. If the surgery succeed, he would live healthy life for the rest of his life. However, if the procedure fails, he would die. The patient reported that the minimum acceptable success rate that will motivate him to take the risk of this surgery is 60%. Then, the utility value of his life is 0.6. (Answer is B)
